PREPARING FOR THE NEW CURRICULUM FOR WALES
The school is busy preparing for the new Curriculum, which will become statutory from September 2022. The vision of the new curriculum is to contribute to learners' ability to achieve the four purposes and to develop the collective skills that underpin the four purposes.
The Four Purposes
The curriculum aims to support learners to become:
• Ambitious learners who are ready to learn throughout their lives
• Enterprising, creative contributors who are ready to play a full part in life and work
• Principled, informed citizens in Wales and the world
• Healthy, confident individuals who are ready to lead fulfilling lives as valued members of society.
Essential skills will be developed within a wide range of learning and teaching:
Creativity and innovation, critical thinking and problem solving, personal effectiveness, planning and organization and cross-curricular skills.
Six Areas of Learning and Experience will form part of the New Curriculum: -

The Humanities
Languages, Literacy and Communication
Mathematics and Numeracy
Science and Technology
